Step 1: How does EBSU Admission Works?

EBSU uses an online screening system for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates. And because there is no written Post UTME exam or physical aptitude test, Your chances of admission largely depend on:

• Your JAMB UTME score
• Your O’level or A‑level/ND/HND results
• The course you apply for and its competitiveness
• How early you complete each step (EBSU strongly emphasizes first‑come‑first‑served registration after admission is offered)

Step 2: JAMB and Choice of Institution

As you already know, Your EBSU admission journey actually starts with JAMB.

1. Register and sit for JAMB UTME: To qualify for EBSU admission, You must make sure you choose suitable subjects for your intended course and prepare well ahead of time.
2. Score at least the general EBSU cut‑off mark: In recent sessions, EBSU used a minimum of 150 for eligibility, while competitive courses may need higher scores. To be on the safe side, you have to aim far above the minimum.
3. Choose EBSU as your first choice: EBSU gives priority to candidates who select the university as their first choice in JAMB. If you initially chose another school, you must do a Change of Institution on the JAMB portal to EBSU before the Post UTME/DE application closes.

Step 3: Eligibility for 2026 EBSU Post UTME/DE

EBSU usually announces its Post UTME and Direct Entry online screening with eligibility and fee. While the exact figures are announced officially each year, the pattern typically includes:

• Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB obtained at not more than two (2) sittings, strictly including English Language and Mathematics. Candidates MUST accept their admission on JAMB CAPS before paying fees.
• Direct Entry (DE) candidates must be screened online. Applicants must request their previous institutions to verify ‘A’ Level or Diploma certificates on the JAMB portal. Candidates with Pre-Degree (PD) results must present original slips during documentation.
• Post-UTME screening is online (₦2,000 via Remita). After admission, candidates must pay the acceptance fee via the university portal only—payments directly via Remita.net are not accepted. Registration is strictly first-come, first-served.
• Candidates awaiting the results of NABTEB Olevel, WAEC (May/June) and NECO (June/July) 2026 are eligible to apply
• Inconsistency in the name is unacceptable to the university and may lead to disqualification. Candidates’ names on their O’ Level certificates, UTME results, and other registration documents must be the same.
• Candidates are not required to appear for physical screening
• Candidates will be notified of their admission status via the EBSU portal
• Candidates must upload their O’level results to the EBSU portal and on the JAMB portal before they can be recommended for admission
• An offer of admission must be accepted by the candidate on CAPS or JAMB portal within TWO (2) weeks and if not accepted within the period it is withdrawn

Step 4: How to Apply for 2026 EBSU Post UTME / Direct Entry

The application is done entirely online through the EBSU portal. The exact layout may change slightly, but the process is usually similar:

1. Visit the EBSU admission portal
   Go to the university’s official website or follow the link: https://portal.ebsu.edu.ng/ and Scroll to the quick menu Click on Online Application Form for Post UTME or Application Form for Direct Entry Candidates
2. Select the correct application type
   • “Post UTME” if you are a UTME candidate
   • “Direct Entry” if you are applying with A‑level, ND, HND, or equivalent
3. Enter your JAMB registration number
   The portal will use your JAMB number to fetch your basic details and create an application profile for you. so you must enter your detail in the right format.
4. Generate your payment invoice
   Click on LOGIN to generate your payment invoice. The system will generate a payment invoice for the screening fee. Make sure the amount and your details are correct.
5. Pay the screening fee
   Proceed to any bank to make your payment or you can pay:
   • Online with your ATM/debit card through the payment gateway
   • Or at a designated bank using the generated invoice
     Note: Never pay into any account that is not clearly stated on the official portal.
6. Return to the portal to complete your application
   After payment is successful, log back in with your JAMB registration number. You should now be able to:
   • Fill in your personal information
   • Fill in your O’level (and A‑level/ND/HND for DE) details
   • Confirm your course and faculty
   • Provide a valid email address and phone number and the information of your sponsor.

7. Review and submit
   Go through your entries carefully. Check your names, grades, phone number and course. Once you submit, you may not be allowed to edit again.

Important: If you are using awaiting results, select that option where applicable, but remember to update your details as soon as your results are released.

Step 5: EBSU Awaiting Result – Uploading O’level and DE Credentials

One of the most important parts of the 2026 EBSU admission procedure is your result upload. Missing this step can cost you admission even if your score is high.

You must:

1. Upload your O’level results on JAMB CAPS
   To Upload your O’level results on JAMB CAPS, You have to visit any approved CBT centre or JAMB office. When you arrive, present your WAEC/NECO/NABTEB results to JAMB. This is necessary before you can be considered for admission.
2. Upload your O’level/DE details correctly on the EBSU portal

   Ensure your A‑level/ND/HND transcript and statement of result are properly processed by your previous institution as JAMB may verify your credentials.

Note: All your names must be consistent across JAMB, O’level, DE, and other documents. If there is any difference (e.g. spelling or arrangement), correct it officially before it causes a problem.

Step 6: How to Check EBSU Admission List

After the online screening closes and EBSU processes applications, the next stage is shortlisting.

You will need to:

1. Check your admission status on the EBSU portal
   To do this, visit the university admission status portal . Enter your details to confirm if you have been offered admission.
2. Check your status on JAMB CAPS
   • Log in to your JAMB profile
   • Go to CAPS
   • Select “Check Admission Status”
   • If offered admission, you will see “Accept” or “Reject” options
3. Accept your admission on CAPS quickly
   EBSU typically gives a short period (often about two weeks) for you to accept your admission. If you don’t accept within that timeframe, the offer may be withdrawn and given to another candidate.

NOTE: Never ignore CAPS. Even if you see your name on the school’s portal, your admission is not complete until you accept it on JAMB CAPS.

Step 7: EBSU Acceptance Fee and Registration

Once you have been offered admission and you have accepted it on JAMB CAPS, the next steps are:

1. Confirm your admission on the EBSU portal
   Use your JAMB registration number to log in and confirm your admission details.
2. Create your student portal account
   Log in to https://portal.ebsu.edu.ng/ to create your Profile. New students usually need to:
   • Select “New Student” or “Current Year 1”
   • Enter their JAMB registration number
   • Receive or set a default password
   • Log in to update their profile
3. Generate and pay acceptance fee
   • On your student portal, generate an acceptance fee invoice. Pay through the approved payment system (either online or at a designated bank)Return to the portal to confirm payment and print your acceptance letter and online admission letter
   Note: EBSU strongly warns students not to pay directly through external platforms unless it is initiated from the official portal invoice. Always start from the school portal first.
4. Pay school fees and other charges
   After acceptance fee, you’ll be guided to generate invoices for school fees and other compulsory charges. Again, pay only through the official channels.
5. Complete physical clearance and documentation
   After you might have made the necessary payment, you will be instructed, when the physical Screening/document verification process starts. You will need to present original copies and photocopies of your documents:
